Brownfield is the County Seat of Terry County, located in the heart of the Texas High Plains American Vitcultural Area (AVA). Terry County and the Texas High Plains AVA is the fastest developing grape region in Texas, currently producing between 60-80 percent of the wine grapes grown in Texas. The High Plains AVA is home to 5 award winning wineries and more than 40 vineyards.
The Brownfield Industrial Development Corporation has set aside more than 100 acres of prime farmland to develop the High Plains Winery Estate. This master planned Community will form a colony of eight premier wineries and vineyards in the core of the High Plains wine country. The wineries will be connected by a tree lined boulevard winding through the property. A romantic wedding chapel and event center will be built in a park located in the center of the Estates. Four retail tracts are available for businesses which cater to the winery industry.
Anchoring the High Plains Winery Estates is Texas Custom Wine Works, a custom processing winemaking facility located at the southwest corner of the Estates. This facility is already in operation and producing wines such as Acai, Red 55, Los Pinos, Fiesta and others. The many services offered by Texas Custom Wine Works establish the foundation for building the High Plains Winery Estates.
